Special Considerations

A compression factor represents the number of waveform values for each enabled channel that are evaluated for minimum and maximum line segment end points before plotting. For example, if the compression factor is set to 100, one vertical line is plotted every 100 acquired data points (for each channel).

Waveform compression affects the real time waveform display only. Data streamed to disk is unaffected and is always stored at a compression factor of 1.

As the waveform compression factor is changed, the time base field (ms /DIV: or sec /DIV:) displayed in the bottom annotation line is automatically adjusted to reflect the proper time scaling of displayed waveforms.
