There are four options for switching files:
Open - Closes the current file and prompts you to find the next file to open.
Save All, Open Next - Saves all and opens the next file in numerical sequence automatically.*
Save EU, Open Next - Saves EU settings and opens the next file in numerical sequence automatically.*
No Save, Open Next - Leaves the file unchanged and opens the next file in numerical sequence automatically.*
*Only works with files using the same naming convention in numerical sequence. For example, if DATAQ01.wdq is open the "Open Next" commands will only open DATAQ02.wdq. If DATAQ02.wdq does not exist the Open dialog will open prompting you to browse and select a file. Files must be in the same folder.
To use the Open command:
In the File menu click on Open….
Choose File Open… (ALT, F, O).
This displays the following dialog box.
You are required to select one of these options for the currently active data file before you can switch to a different file. Each option is described in detail as follows:
Save All…
Activating this button saves the entire state of the data (including display format, scales, offsets, compressions, calibration constants, etc.). The next time the data file is reviewed, it will default to the exact display state that existed when exited and saved the time before.
Save EU Settings…
Activating this button saves the EU settings only. The next time the data file is reviewed, all waveforms will appear calibrated in Engineering units without needing to repeat the process.
Proceed with No Save…
Activating this button forces the program to proceed without saving calibration or state. If calibration data was previously provided and saved, the constants provided are unaffected by this command. They remain intact for future file review.
Cancel
Activating this button cancels the switch files opportunity.
Following your selection of an option for the currently active data file, the Open dialog box will appear prompting you for a new file name. Simply supply the name of the data file you wish to review including any paths that may be necessary.
