Description
DI-2008-DIRECT USB Thermocouple Data Acquisition system with Windaq Direct Suite. Specially configured for Mac, Chromebook, Linux, SnapDragon laptop and more. Features 8 analog input channels programmable as a thermocouple or voltage input, 16-bit measurement resolution, and a full scale range of ±10mV to ±50V for voltage measurements or Thermocouple types J, K, T, B, R, S, E, or N.
Eight analog input channels adapt to a wide range of measurement types and applications. Each channel can be independently programmed for a thermocouple or voltage measurement. Programmed as a voltage channel you can select one of twelve measurement ranges from ±10 mV to ±50 V. Programmed as a thermocouple channel you can select from eight thermocouple types: J, K, T, B, R, S, E, or N. Linearization and junction compensation are automatically applied by the DI-2008-DIRECT for the selected TC type to deliver values scaled in either °C or °F. Finally, all analog measurements benefit from a 16-bit ADC resolution to reveal even the smallest signal variations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I record 4-20mA sensor signals and if so, how do I do that?
4-20-mA process current signals can be measured with the DI-2008. See How to make 4-20mA current Loop Measurements for more information.
Can I connect and measure data from a single-ended sensor?
Yes. Single-ended sensors can be connected and measured. The best practice is to connect the ground wire to the negative input of the channel.
Can I measure Thermocouple temperatures?
The DI-2008-DIRECT is specifically designed to measure and record thermcouple temperature measurements as well as voltage measurements.
Is the DI-2008-DIRECT Isolated?
Each DI-2008-DIRECT analog input is electrically isolated from other channels and from ground for safe and accurate measurements in the presence of common mode voltages. Channel isolation means that each analog input is free to float to an independent common mode voltage imposed upon it by the signal source up to 120 V rms, and still provide an accurate and noise-free measurement.
Does the DI-2008-DIRECT include a calibration certificate?
All new DI-2008-DIRECT instruments ship with an NIST-traceable calibration certificate.
Can I get the DI-2008-DIRECT re-calibrated?
Recalibration service is available and can be ordered online.
How often should I get the DI-2008-DIRECT re-calibrated?
The DI-2008-DIRECT should be re-calibrated annually.

Does the DI-2008-DIRECT include digital or analog output channels?
The DI-2008-DIRECT has seven bi-directional digital ports, and they can be controlled by WinDaq Direct Automated Test Sequencer
My sensor requires a power source, can the DI-2008-DIRECT provide that power?
Yes. The DI-2008-DIRECT can provide +15V power by connecting the appropriate wire to the +15V pin. Be sure your sensor does not exceed the excitation output spec: +15 V dc (-7.5% to +2.5%) at 70% load (47 mA), 67 mA at full load.
