The IP
address must be obtained from the Network Administrator of the
A server in the network or a service within a server that assigns IP addresses.DHCP server
the instrument
is plugged into.
An IP address is necessary for installation of all Remote
Devices. If an incorrect IP address is entered the device will be
unavailable.
For help determining
what IP address to use please use the following diagram.
Local Devices do not
require you to enter an IP address.
Your Network could
be a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and could include multiple Gateways.
To set up Remote Device
1 enter the IP address of Remote Device 1 and port 10001 or, depending
on the way the Local Gateway is set up, enter the IP address of the Local
Gateway and the port
number assigned by the network administrator.
To set up Remote Device
2 enter the IP address of Remote Device 2 and port 10001 or, depending
on the way the Local Gateway is set up, enter the IP address of the Local
Gateway and the port number assigned by the network administrator.
To set up Remote Device
3 enter the IP address of Default Gateway 2 and the port number assigned
by the Network Administrator of the Private Network.
To set up Remote Device
4 enter the IP address of Default Gateway 2 and the port number assigned
by the Network Administrator of the Private Network.
For Remote Devices
outside of Your Network, the Network Administrator of the Private Network
the device is plugged into must write a port
forwarding script to communicate between the Ethernet device(s)
and the Gateway. ALL DATAQ Instruments DI-158, DI-710, DI-715B, DI-718B, and DI-718Bx
Ethernet devices have a device port of 10001.
