A port forwarding script allows an external machine to communicate with a device inside a Private Network.
All DI-710, DI-715B, DI-718B, DI-718Bx, and DI-158 Ethernet devices have a fixed port setting of 10001 (Private Port). A port forwarding script is required to access Remote Devices outside of Your Network. Contact the Network Administrator of the Network the device is plugged into to have them perform the necessary steps for port forwarding.
The creation of a Virtual Server is similar to writing a port forwarding script. When setting up a Virtual Server, the Ethernet device is the Private Port (always 10001) and the Public Port is what gets assigned by the Network Administrator to the Network port.
